Train Your Sub-Conscious Mind to Lose Weight

June 22nd, 2008 by oreliapak

By Gautam Hosahalli Nagaiah A mind is nothing but a blank slate at birth which gets filled up with what it sees and understands through experience. Now I’ve always had great respect for very few people. Not because they achieved reputation or money in society. It’s because they achieved something what most people could not. Money is pretty easy to earn.. a little hard work and streak of good luck.. and you are rich.. but most difficult to achieve is the control your mind. We always hear that the one who controls his mind can almost always achieve anything around. But how often can do we really see people who have achieved this state where they have full control on their mind. Swami Vivekanada is one among the very few. I truly respect him for what he achieved in his life time.. and admire him more for what he has given the society. Remember its all about Karma. Now you must be wondering where these fit in Weight Loss. It has a connection and I’ll show it to you right away in few minutes. What I learnt from Swami Vivekanada is that if you want to control your mind… learn to control your sub-conscious mind. Human mind can be vaguely classified into: 1. Conscious mind: That part which is only functional and responds when you are wide awake. 2. Sub-Conscious mind: The part which is always functional but you never get to know its presence. Lets get a clear picture of what they are and how it can help us reduce WEIGHT. Conscious mind is that state of mind which gives you clear instructions on a day to day basis, sectors like memory, actions, emotions.. are controlled by our conscious mind. But research has proven that its not your conscious mind which is responsible for quicker, stabler and reliable reactions. Its your sub-conscious mind. Have your ever wondered how quickly you turned the direction of the steering when you were about to hit a truck.. or how fast you type your thoughts even without looking into the keyboard ?? Well that’s the power of sub-conscious mind. Well you can do a little more research on Sub-conscious mind if you would like to.. am sure its more interesting topic.. but now getting back to Weight Loss — > Don’t you think its pretty simple to loose weight if you can train you sub-conscious mind not to think about food ?? What do you think hoodia does ? It just trains your mind not to think about food. never lets you believe that you are hungry. Now do the same. Train your sub-conscious mind to believe that you are not hungry when you don’t want to be. Training is the difficult part but once you are successful in training your brain trust me there is nothing more you have to do. Your sub-conscious state takes care of everything. Just like the way it would train your fingers to go to the words which pops in you thought while typing something. It did work for me… so it definitely will work for you and everyone. God Bless. I’ll put down a few powerful methods to train your mind very soon. The author is the owner of a Successful Weight loss program. Also the author maintains a blog on General Medicine. Scratch card kiosks are constantly visited for the purpose of participating and testing the luck factor of an individual. One of the most common games played using scratch cards is Neopet. Neopet scratch cards are available at most of the kiosks and offer scratch cards every fifteen minutes. Scratch card kiosks also sell lottery tickets and lucky draw coupons. These kiosks are usually made of steel, making them durable and long lasting. They can be installed in any environment, whether indoors or outdoors. They are relatively small in size and can save a lot of space without compromising on their functionality. Choosing a College Right For You

June 15th, 2008 by oreliapak

By Casey Eaves College, College, College. The ongoing debate on whether you need a degree or not to succeed in todays world. Let me digress a bit here and fill you in on my career decision. I was a so-so student in High school, graduated basically a “C” student and almost repeated my junior hear for failing Algebra. I hated school, couldn’t stand it. When the Navy recruiter called me, I jumped at the chance to get right into the work force with no college. College was the last thing on my mind. Even with a free ride from the folks, I still didn’t want anything to do with it. After being in the Navy for about 6 years or so, I decided I needed a degree to further my professional development. I enrolled at Columbia College of Missouri as a part time student at a distance Ed. branch in Washington State. The Navy through Tuition Assistance paid for 75% of the class tuition. I covered the other 25%, that’s all changed now and the Navy now pays 100%. Through many night classes, CLEP tests and online classes I graduated Cum Laude from Columbia in 2002. I chose to major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Education. Now the Navy has implemented that in order to promote to certain ranks, you will be required to have a degree of varying levels. Currently I’m working on my Master’s Degree in Theology. I know your thinking; I go from criminal justice and education major to theology. Just goes to show you that a persons interests change over the years. I’m attending Andersonville Seminary right now, still on active duty and 60% complete. Now I’ve had plenty of experience in various types of school efforts. Here’s what I’ve learned. First-Go to college when someone else will pay for it. Whether it’s a scholarship, parents, grant, military etc. If someone else will foot the bill, take them up on it. Second-Internet and online courses are convenient, but with that convenience comes increased difficulty. It’s much harder to collaborate with schoolmates; you must set specific time aside each day to dedicate to your class. It’s really easy to put things off till the end of the week, then you produce lackluster work. Third-Correspondence classes are even more difficult, mainly because you spend so much time waiting for work to come in or go out via mail. Many now use and accept email submissions, but some still use the old tear-out workbooks. Fourth-Pick a reputable school. Many degree farms churn out a worthless piece of paper with your name on it for about $1,000 dollars. You’re only cheating yourself. Any employer will be able to determine quickly if your degree is accredited or not. There are College Recruiters out there that can make your school search easier. Lastly-Don’t wait till someone requires you to get a degree for some reason before you start working on it. By that time it’s too late, someone already has your promotion.Bottom line is with only about 28% of America with College degrees, there is definitely room for more college grads. Warning Signs He - She May Not Be The One

June 7th, 2008 by oreliapak

By Lucia Demasi Weve all looked back on past relationships and said, What was I thinking. Problem is, you werent thinking. You were caught up in the chemistry and the wonderful feelings of the moment that you chose to overlook some warning signs that there may be trouble up ahead. Here is a list of things to look out for when dating: CELL PHONE USE: Theres a new disease in town. Its called cell phoneitis. People afflicted with this cannot tear themselves away from their cell phones. Theyll accept a call 24/7. Being out with someone like this can be annoying. Its almost like youre not even there. If you start dating someone and find out they have this disease, you can point out your displeasure - ONE TIME ONLY. If they persist, forget them. Its rude and disrespectful behavior on their part and we dont tolerate that, now do we? DRIVING BEHAVIOR: If you want to know what someone is really like, be a passenger in a car with them. To quote an online traffic school: The stronger the self-image that drivers have, the less threatened they will be by what happens around them. Identifying with one’s vehicle is a symptom of a weak ego. Insecure people imagine everything that happens on the road is a direct threat to them personally. Someone cuts them off, and they must retaliate: “Who do those people think they are to cut me off?” The irrational thoughts of insecure people can keep them constantly upset. Gee, this sounds just like the type of person Id like to date. Not! ME! ME! ME! : I once met a guy that had a one track mind. That is, all that was on his mind was himself. He went on and on about all his accomplishments. I thought it was finally turning around when he said: Enough about me, tell me about you. Before I could get a word out, he was back to his favorite subject! Yup, himself!! What a total turnoff. I think guys are guiltier of this than girls. Sorry. Guys know that some women will be impressed by what theyve done, who they know, etc. They go on and on thinking theyre getting somewhere (closer to the bedroom?). Smart women dont fall for this. We want to engage in a conversation. If we want to see a one man play, well go to the theatre! BOO-HOO-HOO: Dont you just love hanging out with someone that is always complaining? Ah yes, the joys of seeing the glass as half empty. Theres always something wrong or someone that has done them wrong. Arrive at their pity party with some cheese for their whine if you plan to stick around. If not, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHES A PSYCHO/HES A JERK: If you believe in the law of attraction (we attract/are attracted to that which we are), and the person you start to date says their ex was a psycho or a jerk, what does that make them? You guessed it. Does that mean you too are a psycho or a jerk? Only if you choose to stick around. Just remember, one day YOU will be the psycho or jerk theyll be complaining about to someone else. NAME CALLING: Im surprised at how many people put up with this. What is one of the main reasons for being in a relationship? Because your life is enhanced as a result of that person being in it. Does being called a bitch or a loser make your life better? I can understand someone saying that youre being a bitch or youre acting bitchy, but the next time someone says Bitch! to you, youre only answer should be, Youre right. I am a bitch. Im a Babe In Total Control of Herself as you walk out the door forever. ORAL SEX: In all my years of dating, Ive only run across one guy that didnt want to do oral. In general, girls may have more of an issue with it than guys. Either way, its not a good sign, especially if its important to you. I have a girlfriend whose husband refuses to do it. The poor girl has been relegated to just dreaming about it when shes asleep. Since oral sex is an acceptable part of sex in the 21st century, if someone is unwilling to partake, they obviously have issues. Whether you stick around to see if theyre willing to work on those depends on you, but just keep in mind that this is always a red flag. HANGING UP: Weve all hung up on someone or had someone hang up on us. However, at a certain point, we grow up and realize we cant just go around hanging up on people when were upset or frustrated with them. The proper way to deal with this situation is to say something like, I dont want to talk to you right now. Im going to hang up. Bye. If youre finally at this point and someone hangs up on you, you may think twice about dating them. There are bound to be other maturity issued involved. If however, youre still hanging up on people and someone hangs up on you, then stay together. Those of us that have grown up dont need you on the dating scene bothering us. SOAP OPERAS: This is mainly with respect to guys. Soap operas are the television equivalent of Harlequin romances and just like Secret deodorant, they may be strong enough for a man, but theyre made for a woman. I just dont think guys have any business watching soap operas (sorry CBS, NBC and ABC) unless they are actually on the show and they want to check their performance. I LOVE YOU: Anyone that is professing their love within a few weeks or a few months of meeting you is being insincere and immature. You have to know someone before you can truly love them. Yet people are throwing this phrase around left and right and before you know it, the relationship is over. Its better to err on the side of caution and take too long to say it than to rush it. Of course I dont have to tell you that yelling this out for the first time during a moment of passion doesnt count. There are two things that separate me from almost everyone reading this: Awareness and attitude. Im aware of the red flags and I have the attitude that I will not stick around once I see them. Now that your awareness has been raised, what will YOUR attitude be? Lucia is a dating and relationship expert, columnist, lecturer and host of the TV Show “The Art of Love”. Registration Forms: How to Make Them Irresistible with Discounts

June 1st, 2008 by oreliapak

By Bill Flagg Everyone LOVES to save money or get a deal when making a purchase - and registering for an event is no different. Use pricing discounts to give your prospective registrants an opportunity to save on the registration fee. We’re not saying everybody, every time - pricing discounts are typically based on timing, volume, or type of registrant. Early-Birds Get the Discounts You’ve seen it or at least heard about it, but are you using one of the most popular and successful discount hooks - the Early-Bird Special? An early deadline creates urgency to get the registration done quickly before the discount expires on the date you set. In our experience, over 80% of registrants take advantage of early-bird pricing if the discount is compelling. For example $89 versus $109 or $389 versus $449. Be prepared though, inevitably the procrastinators will call after the deadline making their best plea to get the Early-Bird pricing. You’ll need to determine ahead of time if you want to be flexible or toe the line when you get these calls. It’s imperative, too, that you send your marketing materials at least one month in advance of the Early-Bird deadline to insure that you give people an adequate amount of lead time to register. The More the Better Volume discounts encourage people to promote your event to others. Offer a reduced fee - typically 10-15% off the full fee - for group registrations. Or, charge full price for the first three registrants and throw the fourth registration in for free. Membership Has Its Privileges Varying pricing by registrant type is another another popular form of discounting. Most common is a member and non-member rate where non-members pay a higher registration fee. This approach can also be extended to students, exhibitors or other groups at your event. The Golden Rule: Keep it Simple The easier a discount is to understand, the more likely people are to take action on them. So keep them simple. I sincerely hope this article makes your conference and event registration even more successful! Mastering the Art of Face Painting

May 29th, 2008 by oreliapak

By Tim Arview Have you ever been to a school fundraiser or a birthday party where there was a professional face painter and thought to yourself, “I wish I could do that”? Well, believe it or not, it’s much easier than you think! In this guide, I will briefly discuss 5 tips to getting started as a professional face painter. These are things that most people - even you! - can do! Let’s get started. Tip #1 - Efficiency is key! If the kids you are working with are anything like my kids, they take forever to make a decision! Butterfly or balloon? Hearts or frogs? Yes, there are a lot of designs to choose from, so to ease the wait in line, why not ask the next child in line to decide on a design before they’re in the chair? This will keep the line moving, which makes everyone happy! Tip #2 - When in doubt, go cheap! Makeup is expensive! Especially if you are using professional stage makeup. But let’s be real. The only difference between the cheap stuff and the professional stuff is that the professional stuff lasts longer. But who needs that? Typically, face designs are going to be washed off within a day, so instead of going for the high-priced makeup, use some leftover Halloween makeup. Or, better yet, make your own! Tip #3 - Practice, Practice, Practice! It may seem obvious, but in order to really cultivate the artist in you, you must draw! How often? Every day! Even on days you don’t feel like drawing, draw something! This will keep you “in the flow” so that you can take those “last minute” engagements and come out smelling like roses! Tip #4 - Make a “template.” Draw some basic designs that children may choose from and use those to make the finished product. After all, the child chose the design based on the template, so use it! Tip #5 - Reflections of beauty Remember to bring along a small mirror so your customer can appreciate the hard work you just did. Utilizing these tips will not only make you the favorite stop at your local county fair, they will also help you to become very successful in your career as a professional face painter! Guide to Buying an Unlocked Cell Phone

May 26th, 2008 by oreliapak

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Natalie_Aranda]Natalie Aranda When you are in the market to buy an unlocked cell phone, it is a good idea to have a basic idea of what locked actually means. The term locked when used with mobile phones means that the phone is programmed internally to operate on a particular system. This is usually the system that sells you the phone and provides the service. There are also two kinds of cell phones. These are the GSM and the CDMA types of mobile phones. The GSM is the type of phone used almost everywhere in the world, but the CDMA is a bit more common in the United States. While it is possible to unlock a cell phone, many people prefer to buy unlocked cell phones. Any one who has watched television in the last couple of years is going to be aware of the tremendous competition between the various mobile phone service providers. These companies are most anxious to lock you into using their service and this is the purpose for locking them. When you own an unlocked phone, you are going to be able to select your own service, and use what is really your property in the way that you chose to use it. GSM phones are very easy to unlock, and the CDMA phones are a bit harder. In either case, buying an unlocked mobile phone might make a little more sense than buying a phone and then unlocking it later. Ebay is one of the best sources for the purchase of unlocked mobile phones, but you need be a bit careful here. Some sellers on Ebay do not fully understand the concept of locked or unlocked. This is not really an attempt at dishonesty. They are not necessarily tech types, and simply do not understand. The best solution is to send a question to the seller and make sure that they understand exactly what it is you are asking of them. Unlocked phones are also sold outside the United States and in some countries such as India; it is customary to unlock cell phones before selling them all the time. With the global internet market, this is a viable option for the purchase of an unlocked cell phone. Once again, the important issue to consider is making sure the seller understands exactly what you are looking to receive. Once you have your unlocked cell phones in your hands, it is an easy matter to determine if it is truly unlocked. All you need to do is try it out and it will tell you its status. If it is unlocked you are going to be able to use it to connect with whatever service you wish to use. Natalie Aranda writes on shopping and technology. How To Make A Bouquet Completely Out Of Candy

May 17th, 2008 by oreliapak

By Peta Fletcher There are lots of different types of candy bouquets you can make. One way is to make a normal bouquet out of flowers, and then add candy afterwards. Another type of candy bouquet is one made JUST out of candy. In this article, I will show you how to make a candy bouquet without using any flowers. Although there won’t be any flowers, I will still add some leaves and ribbons to add some variety. You will need: - 1 box of roses chocolates. - 7 chuppa chupps. - 1 packet of wrapped toffee candy. - 1 bunch of thick gauge wire for the chuppa chupps. - 1 bunch of thin gauge wire for the chocolates. - 1 roll of white ribbon - 9 silk rose leaves Step 1: Wiring and Taping… Wire and tape all the chocolates, lollipops, toffees and leaves. Step 2: Add the lollipops to the bouquet… Hold the wired and taped chocolates and toffees in one hand. Place the wired and taped lollipops around the outside of the chocolates. Because the lollipops are on a stronger wire this will help the candy bouquet hold it’s shape. Step 3: Prepare Figure-of-Eight bows… Next make up nine figure of eight bows out of ribbon. These will be arranged around the outside of the candy bouquet to help frame it. Step 4: Add leaves… At this point you can add your leaves throughout the bouquet. This puts something between the pieces of candy, and helps to soften the candy bouquet. You can also make up some ribbon loops, and place them in between the candy as well. Step 5: Add the Figure-of-Eight bows… Place a small piece of stem tape up near the top of the candy bouquet to hold everything together. Then add your figure of eight bows around the outside to frame the bouquet. Step 6: Finishing Touches… If you wish you can add some trailer ribbons to the candy bouquet. Finally, trim your wires and do your final taping of the handle. There you have it! A bouquet completely made out of candy. What a yummy idea. This bouquet would make a lovely gift and children will love it, particularly because they can eat it! Peta Fletcher has been making bouquets for over 14 years. New Home Construction Loans 101

May 14th, 2008 by oreliapak

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Natalie_Aranda]Natalie Aranda When you are ready to build your first home or that dream home that you have been wanting for so long you will probably wind up needing help with the financial part of the building process. The funding for your new home is available through new home construction loans. Both owners and builders can use construction loans, although some lenders are a bit hesitant about lending to first time homebuilders. Construction loans are a homebuilders dream funding. This loan may or may not include the cost of the land used to build your home on. These loans set up a line of credit that will pay suppliers and sub contractors as the building process goes along. This will make both workers happy because they do not have to wait until the completion of the home to be paid for their services. A new home construction loan will be set up in monthly stages or into stages where specific portions of the building process are finished. During these stages, a construction draw will be organized that will state the amount of funds that were used during that specific time period. The construction draw is then given to the lender so that payment to the building workers can be executed. A residential mortgage is required before you apply for a construction loan and must be presented to the lender you choose before the building process begins. A stated income construction loan is a loan in which the funding will be provided to help you build the home of your dreams. This type of loan does not require any verification of your income. With a stated income construction loan you are either having trouble verifying your income or you choose to not submit that information to the lender. Either scenario is acceptable with this type of construction loan. An individual who is self employed is a great example of a borrower of a stated income construction loan. These loans work just like other construction loans and your assets and employment will both be verified. The interest rate of these loans may be higher than that of other new home construction loans because of the risk involved with borrowers whose income is not verified. The down payment for such a loan may also be higher than that of a traditional construction loan. The advantage of a stated income loan, besides the no verification of income, is that these loans are approved at a faster rate than other new home construction loans. How I Came To Love Tea

May 9th, 2008 by oreliapak

By Terry Calamito “Theresa, will you take your tea in the garden, or in the lounge, dear?” Margaret pronounced the second “e” as “ay” — Ther-AY-sa — making it sound royal to my American ear. I was staying with Gathaen and Margaret Jones, friends of my parents, during my first trip to England. Margaret informed me right away that it was delightful to have a girl in the house. They had two grown sons, but no daughters, and so I received generous attention. On sunny mornings, Margaret and I took our tea in the garden. We both preferred being outside. She would spread the daily newspaper out for me “to read at your leisure, dear”–each section stepped down to show the one below. The “garden” included everything that was outside the back door–table, chairs, chaise lounge, clay flowerpots, an expanse of lawn, and at the far end of the property, a manicured rectangle of vegetables, herbs and flowers. I didnt know much about gardens then, and could recognize only tomatoes and roses. Later, Margaret and I would pick black currents, cucumbers, lettuce, and a variety of flowers. Sooner or later, everything from that garden would land, beautifully arranged, on Margarets dining table where tea was served several times a day. Margaret didnt approve of the way Americans soaked a tea bag in a cup of hot water. She was keen to tutor me on the ways of tea, British style. Tea was always black, perfectly steeped. My hostess glided from kitchen to garden, her accoutrements on a large tray. I remember the china teapot, matching cups and saucers, sugar bowl, teaspoons, and flowered cloth napkins. There were always delicate scones or muffins fresh from her oven and served with soft butter. Freshly picked strawberries, blackberries, or blueberries were piled high in separate small bowls to be enjoyed with thick cream. Margaret insisted I take my tea the British way, with sugar and whole milk. We basked in the morning sun–her patio table had no umbrella–chatting about Lady Dianas wedding. This was how I fell in love with everything about tea. I realized how spoiled I had been when I came back to the U.S., where hardly anyone I knew served tea in a china pot, as a rule, like Margaret. I turned up my nose at Lipton in a Styrofoam cup. Tea drinking has not lost an ounce of charm for me, even two decades later. My senses still become infused with the ritual of preparing tea. The whistle of my copper kettle. The almost-boiling water flowing over lavender-scented green tea leaves just covering the bottom of a two-cup pot. Pouring the steeped amber liquid into my favorite wide-mouthed cup. Carrying my tray to the window, to look out on the first orange and yellow tulips in the small patch of earth behind my townhouse. Closing my eyes I lift the cup to my lips with both hands and take a tiny sip. If its too hot, I set it down. These in-between moments are meditation. I become hypnotized by color, fragrance, taste. No matter what is happening around me, the space between the sips quiets my mind. Today, I am creek side, sitting at a black wrought-iron bistro table at the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse. Its four oclock and most people have abandoned the patio, no doubt due to the dark clouds tumbling over the Rocky Mountain peaks. I take my time in choosing from the extensive tea menu that looks more like a wine list. What will it be? Scented Black or Oolong? Japanese Cherry Sencha or Moroccan Mint Melody? Those Jasmine Green Pearls are so tempting, though expensive. Splurging, I order a small pot and watch the leaves unfurl. I have plenty of time today, so I sip.A warm breeze interferes with the jasmine steam rising from my clear cup. Minutes later, a light rain begins but the creek drowns out any sound of drops hitting the table. I watch the space between lazy raindrops. Sitting in the rain with no umbrella, I think of Margaret. “Ther-AY-sa! Four-o-clock, dear! Would you be kind enough and set out the crockery?” Freelance writer and tea promoter Terry Calamito publishes the free ezine “Start Sipping.” If youre a tea lover or just want to find out about teas health benefits and maybe slow down a little to have a cup, subscribe for free at http://www.switchtotea.com.
